The Organizing Committee has resolved to hold the IV Global Fishery Forum and Seafood Expo Russia from September 21 through September 23, 2020 in St. Petersburg. The event has been postponed as the Northern capital is expected to host the BRICS Summit in June–July next year. Moreover, the organizers have decided to meet the fishermen of the Russian Far East halfway as they requested deferment on many occasions.
"September is actually more convenient for Far Eastern companies whose share in the total Russian catch is about 70%. That time concludes the active phase of the salmon fishing season and enterprises would have more complete information about their fish and seafood output to be offered to the market," Ivan Fetisov, the General Director of branch exhibition operator Expo Solutions Group, has commented.
The autumn period is also more favorable for foreign participants intending to visit the Russian exhibition as it leaves sufficient time after the world's major shows that will take place in Boston and Brussels in the spring of 2020.
"The selected dates also offer a sufficient interval for the Eastern Economic Forum that is an active venue for Far Eastern fishermen. This also carves out a bit of cushion time before Qingdao. Furthermore, the first two events took place in September 2017–2018 which makes autumn more familiar and convenient for everyone, including the organizers," Ivan Fetisov said.
SEAFOOD EXPO RUSSIA 2020 will be held at the Expoforum EC as previously. The event will be traditionally operated by full service company Expo Solutions Group.
