Representatives of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will take part in number of events within the framework of IV Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia 2021 business program.
On September 9, FAO Deputy Director General, Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia Vladimir Rakhmanin will take part in the plenary session of the Global Fishery Forum second day “Impact of the Pandemic: New Challenges for the Fisheries Industry”, one of the central events. The Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, the Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Ilya Shestakov, heads of regions and high-level foreign delegations also will take part.
Deputy Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture FAO Department Audun Lem will join online the international conference “Aquaculture: a Driver of Global Fish Production”, which will be held from 11:00 to 13:00 within the framework of the Global Fishery Forum third day business program, September 10.
In addition, 3 scientific sessions hosted by FAO are planned in exhibition business program.
A session “Information on the fisheries and Aquaculture Markets as a Powerful Tool for Assessing Business Opportunities” will be held on event’s first day (September 8). Industry information and analytical centers GLOBEFISH, INFOFISH, EUROFISH will join the discussion.
A new publication on inland fisheries of the Russian Federation will be present on second day of Seafood Expo Russia 2021 within the framework of joint session with Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography.
Also within the framework of the Seafood Expo Russia 2021 second day, there will be a session “Regional Fisheries Management Bodies Established Under the FAO”, which will cover an overview of activities and work carried out in recent years by regional fisheries management bodies, as well as their cooperation on fisheries and aquaculture with Russia.
All above mentioned events will be provided with simultaneous translation into Russian and English.

IV Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia 2021 is the largest event in the Russian fishing industry. The event will take place on 8-10 September 2021 at the Expoforum Exhibition and Convention Centre in St. Petersburg.
