The organizing committee has resolved to hold the IV Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia from June 24 through 26, 2020 in St. Petersburg’s Expoforum EC. The Federal Agency for Fisheries will act as the organizer of the event.
In 2019, the events were held in St. Petersburg from July 10 through 12 visited by about 10 thousand experts from 42 countries of the world and 35 regions of Russia. The forum and exhibition were attended by Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Ilya Shestakov, who is also Mr. Patrushev's deputy, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council's Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management Sergey Mitin and honorable foreign guests such as heads of dedicated agencies from Turkey, the Republic of Guinea, Kingdom of Cambodia, Republic of Bangladesh, Korea, Abkhazia and Bulgaria.
The business program of the forum included a plenary session, thematic conferences and round tables where delegates addressed key issues associated with the fishing industry's condition and development. "The Global Fishery Forum is an important event on the calendar of the Russian and global industry community. I am sure that the high-powered delegates of the forum representing government agencies, businesses, industry, public and scientific organizations have discussed current development trends of the fishing industry, including the present and future of the global and local markets, economic, environmental and social issues, all of which will result in vital decisions," Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, said.
In 2019, SEAFOOD EXPO RUSSIA was attended by 335 companies from 35 regions of Russia and 25 countries of the world. The exhibition featured the combined national booths of Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Turkey and Morocco and 12 regional booths of Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Kaliningrad, Rostov, Leningrad, Ulyanovsk, Murmansk and Magadan Regions, Republic of Karelia, Tatarstan, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District and Primorsk Territory.
Once again, the Russian fishing industry exposition was organized at the highest level which allowed it to develop, just in 3 years, a solid reputation as the leading industry event featuring the latest achievements of the domestic and global fishing industries. Representatives of all areas of the fishing industry ranging from fishing, fish-breeding, processing companies, shipbuilding and repair enterprises, manufacturers of various processing, fishing and ship equipment and gear, companies engaged in aquaculture and packaging operations to companies of adjacent domains such as logistic, trade, financial and insurance organizations took part in the exhibition activities.
